Grand Ma's Kitchen Day 6

Day 6

After the meal ws finished it was time to clean up the kitchen

However when GrandMa  cooked   she cleaned  as she went because  she only had a few pots and pans to cook in.

Therefore to wash cook and then wash again in order to have enough pots to be able to cook all the food she had prepared.

GrandMa never let anyone bring food  any food, she cooked it all.

Breakfast and supper were the only meals she cooked that way.  For lunch it was leftovers or a lite lunch of bologna and crackers.

After each meal was cooked and eaten the men women and children had to wash plates to be ready for the next meal.  GrandMa  didn't  believe  in eating from a paper plate.

She brought her best out for the bes , using the best of what she had mattered to GrandMa even though it was worn and faded.

Grandma always had a way of making everyone feel special.

I know it must have been  hard to handle 10 children at one time.

As I reflect on today's readings  I can relate ro Peter's mother , and how when she fell ill with a fever  Jesus, Peter her expecting to have a meal prepared for everyone,  but when Peter arrived , she was in bed .  Jesus went inside , likely wondering why the meal had not been prepared.

As Jesus prayed for her healing  she got up from bed and began to prepare a meal for everyone.

As the older woman of the houses it was her duty in that dispersion of time to organize  , plan, and prepare the meals,  while her daughter's and granddaughters had their duties as well.

                            1 Peter 1:22

"Seeing you gave purified your souls in obeying the truth through the Spirit into unrefeigned love of the brethren, see that you love one another with a pure heart  fervently

                                       KJV
