Today is a Big Day for me! My book CANDLE WITH CARE, written under my pen name of Valona Jones releases from multiple vendors.


This is the 4th book in my A Magic Candle Mysteries and it features an amateur sleuth (Tabby Winslow) who is suddenly much in demand for her crime solving abilities, though her day job is making soaps and candles for The Book and Candle Shop that she and her fraternal twin, Sage, own and run. Savannah, Ga., is suddenly hopping with crime. 


There's a hit-and-run accident on an off-duty police detective, a murder, and a kidnapping. To make matters worse, her future mother-in-law has scheduled an engagement shower that requires a fancy pastel dress. Nothing like that is in her closet and she doesn't have time to dress shop. She's certainly burning the candle at both ends--but in a compelling, turn-the-page way!

Shadow of the Missing by Lauren Carr

  My Review  I had forgotten  how much I enjoy Lauren Carr's books.  It has been awhile since I have read a Chris Matheson and a Geezer Squad title.  I think one of the best things that Lauren Carr does is including a cast of characters.  Which is important  because there are a lot of characters to keep straight.  There are alot of suspects in Shadows of the Missing because there are alot of victims in this 45 year old cold case.  The main story revolves around the search for Helen Chris's wife's parents.  Helen and her younger sister have memories  from the last time they saw their mom.  Lauren  Carr keeps the reader interested  with multi plots that actually  all weave together  in one main plot.    There are some great regular characters in the series that uncover leads and hidden secrets.  And new characters like Percy  that I suspect might make their way into another title.  I r...
