A Deadly Dead by Joy Patrick My Review

Image
About the book  A scandalous town secret brews. A mysterious bank-robbing duo evades the FBI cold case unit. If a wiley amateur sleuth can’t help, nobody can. As Lilly is busy doing upgrades to Magnolia Manor, all focus is on customer satisfaction and getting those 5-star reviews. Then crass guest Ethel Grimstone checks in, and all bets are off. Meanwhile, head FBI agent Brock Armstrong continues to dismiss Lilly’s contribution to the cold case unit. So, when elusive, violent bank robbers continue to taunt the unit, what is she to do but take matters into her own hands? As Lilly and friend Anne go undercover with the help of the new eccentric librarian, Penelope Quibblesworth, things get more than a little dicey... But little does Lilly know the evil twist of events that awaits her as she uncovers a sinister town secret along the way that threatens not only Magnolia Manor but Lilly’s own life. And I thought   Another great read.  I can easily say these book ge...

About the book   Ah, the 70’s. Disco, Star Wars. And a heist that baffled the police every decade since. Lilly Livingston is celebrating her year mark as owner of Magnolia Manor—but things aren’t going exactly as expected. As an FBI unit descends on Drifter's Cove to tackle cold cases from a bygone era, a local billionaire, the elderly Baron Carrington, nears the end with his estate and heirs in question. Meanwhile, more tourists and riff-raff pour into once-sleepy Drifter’s Cove, frustrating Chief Crowder as she struggles to run a tight ship. As tempers flare, one probationer protests his sentence, sparking a deadly conflict. When Lilly's friend becomes a prime suspect in the murder, she dives head-first into small-town scandals, encountering shadowy figures and risking her life in the process. So, don your bellbottoms and join Lilly in a suspenseful ride where past and present collide. May the force be with you. The series  And I thought   My favorite ...

Galveston Memories

Wednesday is the day to share photos with no words but today  Words included . . . Honestly taking the dogs to the beach was not enjoyable for me.  I was always afraid I would loose them. I feel silly now.  But I realize that even then I ws filled with anxiety.   The day we arrived we ordered Pizza from Yaga's.  Domino's did not deliver to our house.  Yes.  It was odd but there was much better Pizza available.   I remember walking the dogs and seeing the ferris wheel over the rooftops.  I did not realize we were so close.  I never saw the roads in town this quiet.  We were 1 block from the beach I heard this restaurant was really  good.  We never made it there.   And for lunch . . .

A couple of  days I petty  much blew it as far as keeping with my low sodium diet . . .  This wasn't one of them.  I remembered a favorite Resturant from back in the day.  Black Eye Pea.  I always got a veg plate.  A yummy breakfast  So this was one time I blew it.  My Thursday dinner.  I had a bad sad afternoon that extended. I realized it was too late to cook because I was tired.  So air fried shrimp was easy.  I also splurged and did Hash Browns  but I was really good I added no salt. Blah.  I finally made Swiss Steak like MaMa.  It was so good.  I have never had Chili and Spaghetti. It was so good and so bad for me. But I didn't waste the last of that can of Chili. So that was a good thing.  The Fried Shrimp isn't such a bad thing.  But just a few days apart. Not so good.  Another late lunch. Tossed in some Wings.  In the Air Fryer they were good. Needed some sauce.  ...
