And I thought 

Through most of this book I wavered about 'If' I liked Emmy.  Which was hard because I have really liked loved each of the characters in this series. 3/4's of the way through I realized it was the narrators depiction that bothered me.  Emma appeared/sounded childish.  

Which she wasn't at all.  Emma was strong and kind.   

Her kindness is what got her in the mess . . .

 Emma  had rushed out during a rainstorm to get diapers for a new mom.  What unfolded next ended up in a deadly cat and mouse game. 

I enjoyed  the plot and the twists  and turns. 

Sadly the YouTube version I listened to stopped close to the end.   

I had to imagine how it all turned out. 

Emma was tied up. Colby was challenging the man holding a match and then . . . 

I guess will definitely have to purchase the print copy. 

As always I can say I really  enjoyed this title. 

I hope to see Colby and Emma together in the end.

  My Review  I had forgotten  how much I enjoy Lauren Carr's books.  It has been awhile since I have read a Chris Matheson and a Geezer Squad title.  I think one of the best things that Lauren Carr does is including a cast of characters.  Which is important  because there are a lot of characters to keep straight.  There are alot of suspects in Shadows of the Missing because there are alot of victims in this 45 year old cold case.  The main story revolves around the search for Helen Chris's wife's parents.  Helen and her younger sister have memories  from the last time they saw their mom.  Lauren  Carr keeps the reader interested  with multi plots that actually  all weave together  in one main plot.    There are some great regular characters in the series that uncover leads and hidden secrets.  And new characters like Percy  that I suspect might make their way into another title.  I r...
