Fire Mountain by Dana Mentink

 


My Review 

I enjoyed the audio copy. Dana Mentink is a favorite  author of mine.  I knew I would  love this book. 


Fire Mountain is a fast paced read.  Since I was listening  to the audio version it was super easy to spend the day with a favorite Author. 

The story is filled with lots of  great characters 

An energizer bunny villain, because no matter what he did not give up. He wasn't  a likeable sort.   The perfect 'Mean Guy'. 

One of my favorite things about a Dana Mentink title is God is always a part of the cast.  

The characters Know God.  Some are confused and drifted or drifting away which makes the story a pleasant  read as the reader can see God working miracles.  

The ending was a surprise to me.  I had my own idea or thought as to how everything  would work out. 

The author gave me a pleasant surprise.  

I was glad to have the chance to enjoy this title. The paperback version is on my Wish List.

Shadow of the Missing by Lauren Carr

  My Review  I had forgotten  how much I enjoy Lauren Carr's books.  It has been awhile since I have read a Chris Matheson and a Geezer Squad title.  I think one of the best things that Lauren Carr does is including a cast of characters.  Which is important  because there are a lot of characters to keep straight.  There are alot of suspects in Shadows of the Missing because there are alot of victims in this 45 year old cold case.  The main story revolves around the search for Helen Chris's wife's parents.  Helen and her younger sister have memories  from the last time they saw their mom.  Lauren  Carr keeps the reader interested  with multi plots that actually  all weave together  in one main plot.    There are some great regular characters in the series that uncover leads and hidden secrets.  And new characters like Percy  that I suspect might make their way into another title.  I r...
